The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) highlighted its mandate in regulating the profession and enforcing infrastructure standards at the 2025 Devolution Conference in Homa Bay. The four-day forum drew more than 6,000 delegates under the theme “For the People, For Prosperity: Devolution as a Catalyst for Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice.” The Board had the privilege to engage county leaders, private sector players and development partners on licensing of engineers and firms, compliance with standards and the need to safeguard public safety in infrastructure. With counties driving demand for roads, housing, water and energy systems, partnerships with devolved units will be key to curbing losses from unqualified practitioners and boosting technical capacity across Kenya.
